7 of the Top Music Venues in Nashville, Tennessee

I've seen shows at all but one.

One of the main reasons I love Nashville is because of the music scene. It’s everywhere, and it’s not just country.

Andrea Bocelli at Bridgestone Arena

Hence why Nashville is known as the "Music City" and is home to so many music venues. Here are some of the best music venues in Nashville:

  1. Bridgestone Arena: I recently saw Andrea Bocelli and friends here. It was a phenomenal show! This large arena is a popular spot for big-name concerts and has hosted performances by Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, and other major artists.

  2. The Bluebird Cafe: This intimate venue is a popular spot for songwriters and has hosted performances by Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks, and other country music stars.

  3. Ryman Auditorium: This historic venue is known as the "Mother Church of Country Music" and has hosted some of the biggest names in music, including Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Dolly Parton.

  4. Ascend Amphitheater: This outdoor venue offers stunning views of the Nashville skyline and has hosted performances by John Legend, Harry Styles, and other popular artists.

  5. Exit/In: This small venue has a legendary reputation and has hosted performances by Nirvana, R.E.M., and other famous bands.

  6. Mercy Lounge: This popular venue features a variety of music genres and has hosted performances by Cage the Elephant, Vampire Weekend, and other indie and alternative bands.

  7. The Station Inn: This venue is the venue I haven’t been to yet. It is known for its bluegrass music and has hosted performances by Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, and other bluegrass legends. It’s right up my alley as I learned to play guitar in East Tennessee at the Carter Fold and bluegrass jam sessions.

These are just a few of the many music venues in Nashville that showcase the city's vibrant music scene.
