Shop. Hang. Eat. Repeat.

Nashville Neighborhood, The Gulch

Music City isn’t just Broadway (though I love me some Broadway)—there are so many neighborhoods to explore, each with its own particular vibe and offerings. One of those (and a personal favorite of mine) is The Gulch, just south of downtown.

This trendy, urban area is LEED certified and encourages pedestrians, bikes, and other sustainable transportation methods. With one hour free parking in select garages and surface lots (a rarity in a big city) and easy drop off with ride-share services, you can easily pop into the Gulch even if you’re staying elsewhere.

But you’ll probably want to stay more than an hour. Because there’s so much to see, do, and eat!

Let’s start with the shopping. There’s Nashville Boot Company (because it isn’t a visit to Music City without boots), Parish, and Patagonia for your clothing desires. Parachute (“premium quality sheets, towels, robes, rugs and all things soft and wonderful,” as the website says) and Epiphany Design Studio will help with your home needs. And you can even shop for your furry friends at Pet Wants Nashville South.

The Gulch has special events coming up, including The Lodge at PROOF on the rooftop of W Nashville. Their bar patio will be transformed “into a winter village with a small-town vibe featuring snow, pine trees and glowing lamp posts” through most of February.

There’s also Stephanie Adlington Presents: Valentine’s Day "Our Love is Here to SLAY" at Rudy’s Jazz room on Valentine’s Day.

And you know I have to mention the food. For you Italian fare fans, there’s Luogo, with an incredible menu and swank atmosphere. 404 Kitchen will give you a modern take on classic European cuisine. Emmy Squared is serving up Detroit-style pizzas. Otaku Ramen is the place to get your Japanese food fix, and one of my personal favs, Biscuit Love will make your brunch and lunch dreams come true. Plus, you’ve got to get your photo outside this place with the perfectly Instagrammable WhatLiftsYou Wings mural.

Whether it’s to shop, hang, or eat—you need to pop over to the Gulch.

Have you visited here before? What was your favorite spot in the Gulch? I’d love to hear more!
