Nashville's Batman "AT&T" Building

An Iconic Piece of Real Estate

The Batman Building, officially known as the AT&T Building, is a distinctive skyscraper located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. It gets its nickname from its striking resemblance to the cowl of the superhero Batman.

The building was completed in 1994 and stands at 617 feet tall with 33 floors. It was designed by architects Earl Swensson Associates and was built to serve as the headquarters for BellSouth, which later became AT&T.

The unique design of the building features two towers connected by a central core, giving it the appearance of a giant "V". The towers are made of dark, reflective glass, which adds to the dramatic effect of the building's design.

The building has become an iconic landmark of Nashville's skyline and is widely recognized as one of the most unique and interesting skyscrapers in the United States. It has also been featured in several movies and TV shows, including the television series "Nashville" and the movie "The Green Mile".

Today, the Batman Building is still the headquarters for AT&T, and it remains a popular destination for visitors to Nashville who want to take in the impressive architecture and stunning views of the city from the top of the tower.

Another feature of the building is its direction. While most skyscrapers or downtown office buildings run parallel with the streets they’re on, the Batman building sits catty-cornered on its lot, facing the corner of Commerce Street and 3rd Avenue North rather than any one street.
