THE STEAK THAT IS ABOVE THEM ALL

BOURBON STEAKHOUSE

High atop the 34th floor of JW Marriott, Bourbon Steakhouse offers Nashville skyline views and a dining experience that cannot be beat.

Bourbon Steakhouse takes meat seriously. Each piece of USDA Prime hormone-free beef if inspected by their in-house butcher before it’s slow-poached, as their website explains, “in a warm bath of rendered beef tallow, clarified butter and a proprietary blend of aromatic herbs and spices, then finished on a wood-burning grill of oak, hickory, and cherrywood.”

All this special time and care is worth it when you put that first perfectly savory bite in your mouth.

But steak isn’t the only thing on the menu. From half Maine lobster to spiced duck breast to seared scallops, you really can’t go wrong with anything you pick. (But get the steak. It’s a literal flavor experience.)

Bourbon Steakhouse also doesn’t skimp on the sides. I recommend getting the black truffle mac and cheese or crispy Brussels sprouts with honey and lime. Or go with a friend and share!

If you plan to skip the steak, go for Chef Michael Mina’s signature Main lobster pot pie. Or just plan to visit twice so you can enjoy the variety.

When you are planning your visit, reservations are highly recommended. You can book one of the three private dining rooms or a table. Bourbon Steakhouse’s reputation precedes itself, and getting seated as a walk-in is not easy.

Also, the website suggests “business attire and/or smart casual dress in order to fit the Bourbon Steak vibe” so dress accordingly!

And don’t worry about parking. The restaurant offers complimentary valet parking for up to four hours. Just have that tip ready.

Finally, you know a place that’s so thoughtful about food will also take drinks up a notch. And Bourbon Steak does just that.

They offer multiple cocktails to be concocted in the “traditional” or “rebellious” fashion, with the latter giving you a special twist on an old favorite.

For example, a traditional Old Fashioned comes with the typical bourbon, bitters, sugar, and sea salt. But the rebellious version comes with tequila, allspice cherry and chocolate bitters, to name a few of the punched up ingredients.

Bourbon Steakhouse is a can’t miss for steak, seafood, and cocktail enthusiasts ready to dine with a priceless view of Music City. If that’s you and you’re heading to Nashville, get yourself a reservation. Immediately.

Hey, if you’ve already been to this spot, what did you think? Send me your thoughts! I’d love to hear.
