Wildhorses Couldn’t Drag You Away From This Fun

8 Fun Facts about Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon

Line dancing, live music, fun events, and fantastic eats. If that sounds like a legendary Music City experience—it’s because it is. I’m describing the famous Wildhorse Saloon.

Right on 2nd Avenue North, the Wildhorse boasts having Nashville’s largest dance floor. And it needs it! Because people from all over come to boot scootin’ boogie. Get this—they offer free line dancing lessons throughout the afternoon and evening on Wednesdays through Saturdays. (Here’s the lesson schedule for you.) Learn the steps, and then live it up! Dancing is always encouraged, even when live bands are performing.

Which is what’s up next on my reasons to love the Wildhorse: the music! Free talent performs live. All the time! And the word “talent” is for real here. Incredible up-and-coming bands and singer/songwriters grace the stage on the regular. Here’s that schedule for you! They’ve also got various ticketed shows throughout the year. There’s never a dull moment.

You’re going to work up an appetite, and the Wildhorse menu is ready for just that. With starters like a Nashville hot chicken dip and fried pickles, three salad options, handhelds like a pork sandwich, pimento mac and cheese (with chopped pork in there too!), and the Wild Stallion Bacon Burger . . .you really can’t go wrong.

And if you’re a big whiskey fan, there’s an entire portion of the menu inspired by—and cooked with—that iconic Tennessee brand: Jack Daniels. From grilled chicken to shrimp and grits to ribs . . . is there anything Wildhorse can’t glaze in whiskey? “Well, probably their dessert,” one might guess. But even there they’re ready to surprise and delight with the Jack Daniels Single Barrel Whiskey Glazed Bananas Foster. And don’t worry about the sugar. You’ll work it off on that dance floor!

What’s to drink? Glad you asked. Enjoy a beer, including local drafts. Order a cocktail, like the Pink Pony with Ole Smoky Moonshine Hunch Punch Lightnin’, grenadine, fresh lime juice, a splash of Sierra Mist, and Ole Smoky Moonshine Cherries. Sip some wine (by the glass or bottle). Or try a flight of Ole Smoky Moonshine or Ole Smoky Whiskey.

It honestly feels like you haven’t truly been to Music City without the very things the Wildhorse Saloon has to offer. So get on your dancing boots and strut your stuff over there.
