WHEN IS A BAR MORE THAN A BAR?

Tootsie’s World Famous Orchid Lounge

When it’s been honored by the Country Musical Hall of Fame, has the reputation of “Honky Tonk Boot Camp,” and shines the light on some of the most promising up-and-coming singers and songwriters in Nashville. That’s Tootsie’s World Famous Orchid Lounge—and it’s a can’t miss stop for anyone coming to Nashville.

The honky tonk was founded by Hattie Louise “Tootsie” Bess in 1960, and many a legend has graced the place including Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, and Loretta Lynn. That talent continues today. Patrons say it’s got the best music on Broadway. Listen, if you’re looking for the real Music City experience, you can’t skip Tootsie’s.

Tootsie’s offers the typical bar menu foods: appetizers like nachos and chicken fingers, plus burgers, fries, and even salads. You’ll want to try the chili. Even the National Trust for Historic Preservation gives Tootsie’s chili a shout out!

If you come early, you can enjoy an assortment of breakfast items and a Bloody Mary.

And speaking of drinks, whether you want a beer, wine, hard cider, or seltzer—you’re covered. If you want something harder, check out their specialty drinks like the Honey Do Broadway or the Violet Orchid. And get yourself a mason jar of Tootsie’s Apple Pie Shine to take home.

Check out their website to see their hours or book a room, a floor, or the whole building for your private party. Or just drop in and enjoy possibly catching a star of tomorrow and some of the best music in Nashville at this historical and iconic spot.
