A Cut Above the Rest

Morton's Steakhouse in Nashville

So you’ve been to some steakhouses in your time. But have you been to Morton’s Steakhouse on Church Street? If you answered “no,” then you need to get there. If you answered “yes,” you should go back. They’re serving up a special kind of swanky atmosphere and offering new featured menu items on the regular.

The vibe you’ll get at Morton’s is classic meets contemporary—from the ambiance to the mouth-watering taste of every food and drink you’ll order. Morton’s brings life to the words “upscale” and “tasteful.” And take note: they’ve got a business attire or smart casual dress code, so dress to impress.

Here’s a peek into the menu. You know it’s going to be good when the appetizers list starts out with “Maine Lobster Ravioli,” and the menu doesn’t drop off after that. There’s bacon-wrapped sea scallops, prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella, crab cake, oysters, and lobster bisque too.

Then, the sumptuous steaks. You’ve got all the standard cuts, and then you pick your butter or sauce: Cognac Sauce Au Poivre, Béarnaise Sauce, and Black Truffle Butter are three options. But the special personalization doesn’t stop there. Add an “enhancement” to your meal like the “Oscar Style” Crab, Cold Water Lobster Tail, or Jumbo Grilled Shrimp.

And then there are the sides. These alone are worth the trip, but you shouldn’t skip out on the steak at a steakhouse, of course. There’s Sautéed Brussels Sprouts, Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes, Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, and Baked Corn Soufflé, to name a few.

If you left room for dessert, Morton’s has nine options, including one of my very favorite treats, a Crème Brûlée.

If that wasn’t enough, they’ve got a packed dessert cocktail menu (with an Espressotini and Irish Coffee) and signature cocktails as well (including the Black Cherry Cobbler and Blackberry Mojito). And their wine list is impressive, to say the least.

Let’s be honest: everything about Morton’s is impressive. It’s a true fine dining experience, from the succulent tastes to the posh surroundings to the details of decadence you’ll get all throughout your visit. If you want a steakhouse that’s a cut above—you’ve got to try Morton’s.

Hey, if you’ve already been to this spot, what did you think? Send me your thoughts! I’d love to hear.
