Nashville BBQ Spots Pt 2

More Meats that Can’t Be Beat

I know. I know. I left you hanging last time, but I’m here to fulfill my promise with the last two BBQ spots in Nashville that I think you’ve just got to visit.

The first in this email is Hogwood’s BBQ. They’ve got a location in Franklin and a trailer you can request at your event! Bring incredible BBQ directly to your celebration? Yes, please.

The Hogwood specialties are aplenty. They have pulled pork, ribs, brisket, turkey, and seasonal sausages! Get your meat on a sandwich, in a bowl, or on nachos. One of my favorites is the Brisket Smoked Bowl with buttered rice, beef brisket, house-made red sauce, icebox pickles, Hogwood beans, seasoned corn, white cheddar cheese, and Hogwood slaw. I’m dreaming of eating this as I type!

They’ve got a great twist on a traditional BBQ side: their Rosemary Potato Salad has real potatoes and bacon mixed with a hint of rosemary to create something new and refreshing and oh-so-yum. But it’s honestly hard to pick what side because they’re all fantastic. (They’ve even got grits. Yep. You don’t get much more southern than that!)

Finally, you need to try Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint with multiple locations, including Nissan Stadium! They’ve got burgers, a Southern “Paddy” Melt, wings, mac and cheese, hushpuppies, plus incredible options for you to enjoy the succulent pulled pork.

If you come with a big crew, order the Big Poppa Sampler for the table. You’ll get a full rack of ribs, 12 oz of pork, 12 oz of brisket, 12 oz of turkey, and a choice of three different sides!

My personal favorite on the menu at Martin’s, though, are the tacos. The Brisket Tacos are covered in melted shredded cheddar, Martin’s salsa, fresh cilantro, with pickled jalapenos and a lime wedge on the side. And the Catfish Tacos come with melted shredded cheddar, slaw, and pickled jalapenos on top of Mississippi Farm Raised Catfish. (And you know what, if you’ve never had catfish, this is a fun way to experience this southern specialty for the first time!)

Okay, I know there are a ton more excellent BBQ spots in Music City. I could seriously go on and on. Did I miss one you think is the best? What would you add to this list? Let me know!
