GM, it's another icy cold day. Let's talk donuts and 3 books I am reading.

Donuts are good anyday, especially today. Combine donuts with a good book, now you're talking!

Hey Nashville, here’s what we have for you today:

  1. Weather;

  2. Fox Donuts; and

  3. Three books I am reading.

Another icy day in Nashville and middle Tennessee. Some schools are closed so check your sources on that.

Donut Worry; Be Happy

When the bright neon lights say “delicious donuts,” you may wonder if they’re telling the truth. Well, when it comes to Fox’s Donut Den on Hillsboro Pike—they aren’t even slightly exaggerating.

This place has been making people’s mouths happy since the 70s! And the menu is still full of overwhelmingly tasty options. To start, I’m going to point out a non-donut (that’s still a pretty standard option for donut places): the apple fritter. With real chunks of apple and a glaze that’s straight from heaven above, you will not be sorry with this selection.

But I’ve got to tell you: order more than just one pastry. Share with friends, or take things home and try bites of each over the next couple days. As we look deeper in the menu, you’re about to see why this is your best bet.

There’s a chocolate-covered Long John for those who love Bavarian cream-filled goodness. You can order a dozen donut holes to share (or don’t . . . I won’t judge). They’ve even got a cronut (part croissant, part donut, all awesome).

The glazed options are incredible too: you can get one with strawberry icing or chocolate icing, with or without sprinkles—or go the old-school route and get a regular glazed. There’s nothing “regular” about the flavor and decadence of this classic.

They’ve got jelly-filled, cream-filled, and even cake-style donuts. Seasonal flavors will pop up like blueberry and red velvet. Whew. There’s a reason this place has been thriving for 50+ years! You can’t go wrong with anything you pick.

If you’re local, follow them on Facebook. They’ll post deals like when they bake too many and offer two dozen for the price of one!

And they don’t stop at making a fantastic product. They also give back. Certain days they’ll donate a portion of their profits to a local charity. How cool is that?

Listen: this Nashville classic just has to be on your must-visit list. Yeah. You donut want to miss out on Fox’s! (Sorry. I had to.)

Hey, if you’ve already been to this spot, what did you think? Send me your thoughts! I’d love to hear.
