Pasta La Vista, Baby

North Italia in Franklin and Nashville, Tennessee

If you’ve been reading these for a little while, you know how I feel about pasta. If not welcome. I call it the 6th love language once, and I stand by that. So when I see a pasta place in the Nashville area, I’ve got to check it out.

If you’re a pasta fan too, North Italia is totally worth your time. You can visit them in the Cool Springs area of Franklin or in the Green Hills area of Nashville. Both of these areas are a shopper’s dream, so go ahead and plan to eat and then walk it off in one of these malls. Now you’ve got your whole evening planned!

First thing that’s great about this spot is the swank atmosphere. It’s perfect for date night, or if you just want to go upscale with your friends’ night out! Somehow warm, cozy, and elegant all at the same time, North Italia will set the vibe and please your palate.

Guess what. They’re open for brunch! If you go then, try the Banana Coffee Cake with dark rum butterscotch, caramelized banana, and whipped crème fraiche; the Cannoli French Toast with ricotta, mascarpone, chocolate pearls, crushed pistachio, maple syrup; or Americano with two eggs, choice of bacon or prosciutto, crispy hash potato, and grilled bread.

For lunch, start with the White Truffle Garlic Bread with house made ricotta or Prosciutto Bruschetta with grilled asparagus. Then you can order a salad, sandwich, or pizza. Or, if you’d like a fuller stomach, go for pasta like the Chicken Pesto, Chicken Parm, or Butternut Squash Anolini.

For dinner, you’ve got those lunch options, but I also want to point out a few of my favorites: the Beef Tenderloin Marsala (with roasted brussels sprout, black truffle and mushroom risotto, and Grana Padano cheese) and Spicy Rigatoni Vodka Italian sausage, crispy pancetta, shaved garlic, torn basil, and Grana Padano cheese).

Finish the evening with dessert like the Seasonal Butter Cake, Bombolini (Italian Donuts) with Meyer lemon curd and vanilla mascarpone, Tiramisu, or Gelato! If you want a cocktail, there’s a New Italian Spritz (aperol, citrus smash, prosecco), a Pomegranate Mule (Bottega Bacûr gin, pomegranate, lemon, and Fever Tree ginger beer), a Black Fig Manhattan (fig-infused Piggyback rye, Averna, Grand Marnier, brandied figs), and more. Plus you know they’ve got sangria, beer, and a full wine list.

Just writing this makes me ready to go to North Italia. Right now. If you’re in the area—or even if you have to make a special trip—you should go there too.

Hey, if you’ve already been to this spot, what did you order? Tell me all about it! I’d love to hear.
