The Donelson Neighborhood, Tennessee

Another one of my favorite places is the Donelson, TN neighborhood. Donelson is located in the eastern part of Nashville, Tennessee. Here are some unique features of Donelson:

Transportation hub:

Donelson is home to the Nashville International Airport, which is the primary airport serving the Nashville metropolitan area. In addition, several major highways and interstates, including I-40, I-65, and I-24, pass through the neighborhood, making it a transportation hub for the region.

Historical significance:

Donelson is named after John Donelson, one of the founders of Nashville, who settled in the area in the late 1700s. The neighborhood also played an important role in the Civil War, with Union forces establishing a fort in the area.

Outdoor recreation:

Donelson is home to several parks and greenways, including Two Rivers Park, which offers hiking and biking trails, fishing, and kayaking. The neighborhood also has several golf courses, including the Hermitage Golf Course, which has hosted several PGA Tour events.

Music scene:

Nashville is known as the "Music City," and Donelson is no exception. The neighborhood has several live music venues, including the Nashville Palace and the Station Inn, which have hosted some of the biggest names in country music.

Diverse community:

Donelson has a diverse population, with residents from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The neighborhood has several ethnic restaurants and markets, including Mexican, Thai, and Indian cuisine.

Donelson, TN has a variety of restaurants to choose from. Here are a few options for nice restaurants in the area:

McNamara's Irish Pub & Restaurant

This restaurant offers traditional Irish cuisine and a cozy pub atmosphere. They serve dishes like shepherd's pie, fish and chips, and bangers and mash.

Darfons Restaurant & Lounge

Darfons offers a mix of American and international cuisine, including seafood, steaks, and pasta. They have a relaxed atmosphere with live music on some nights.

Phat Bites Deli & Bar

This restaurant serves healthy options like salads and wraps, as well as sandwiches and burgers. They also have a bar with craft beers and cocktails.

Edley’s Bar-B-Que

Hands down one of my favorite places for barbque, and not just because it’s around the corner of my offices. They have the best meants, sides and sweet tea. Although I get my half sweet and half unsweet.
